There’s one name on everyone’s lips: Belluccio. On the night of Sunday 28th July the beautiful ballroom at the Langham hotel was turned into a winter wonderland fit for an ice queen. It was the perfect space to host the designer, who is stealing hearts worldwide, at the launch of their newest collection and ready-to-wear campaign. The annual Belluccio Ball has become a fixture for anybody who loves to team fine dining with finer fashion.Melbourne’s finest braved the freezing temperatures outside to celebrate the launch in signature Belluccio style.
House Husband’s Firass Dirani mingled with the likes of Brynne Gordon, David Reynolds, Tahan Lew-Fatt, and the ‘realest’ of Melbourne housewives Pettifleur Berenger and Gamble Breaux who were all out in force to cement the annual event on the Melbourne social calendar. The event was watched around the country by eager brides, who have a great love for the Brunswick-based couture house, through the lens of Instagram powerhouse Wedded Wonderland who flew down from Sydney to attend the event.
The models walked in the newest ready-to-wear fanfare, which was heavy in bold colors, fresh necklines and figure hugging cuts. The highlight of the night came when the aptly named Snow Queen collection was launched.Inspired by Narnia and the boldness we associate with the fabled ice queen, the collection featured a palette of delicate blues and whites, with sheer fabrics and intricate detailing featured across trendsetting ball gowns, sheath dresses and midi cuts.
The Belluccio powerhouse is a family affair with siblings Julie, Haroon and Mamoon Sufi each playing a pivotal role in the success of the label.Belluccio has been featured on red carpets nation-wide, been worn by the likes of Rebecca Judd and Gina Liano and launched a collection last year at the Fashion Palette New York Fashion Week.
Stylist Amber Renae, who hosted the event, perfectly captured the allure of the Belluccio brand. “I first encountered Belluccio driving down Sydney Road. I saw one of their amazing dresses in their shop window. I quickly parked, ran inside and begged [the designer] Julie to let me borrow it for the next event I was styling”.
The annual ball has gone from strength to strength – from being held at Functions on Chapel last year to the pinnacle of Melbourne luxury at the Langham Hotel this year. For the Sufi family, it has become a way for them to celebrate and showcase their hard work.
With such a stunning collection to display we cannot wait to see where Snow Queen takes them!
